I remember growing up that Snack Pack Pudding Cups were always a nice treat to have. Opening up the lunch that mom packed you that morning and finding one of those treats made a world of difference. Now that I’m a mother – a homeschooling one at that – finding ways to keep that nostalgia alive becomes a little trickier but not impossible. With a little creativity and a shopping trip to WALMART, adding items to the Snack Pack Pudding Cups adds a little flair to the Holiday’s and a fun treat for everyone in the family.
Finding my items at WALMART was very easy and I knew I wanted items that reflected everything about winter and Christmas – Santa, Snowmen, and Christmas Trees. I picked up three of the Super Snack Pack Pudding Cups in Chocolate, Vanilla, and Chocolate Vanilla. I gathered the rest of my supplies and it was time to get the ball rolling.
Putting everything together, once I had all my supplies gathered, was quick and having everything lined out and at the ready is really what made this successful.
Items you will need:
- 6 pack of Super Snack Pack Pudding Cups
- Graham Crackers
- Marshmallows in two sizes
- Chocolate candy to melt
- Black piping gel
- Whipped cream
- Parchment Paper
- Plastic bag to pipe melted candy
- Scissors or sharp knife
- Toothpicks (if needed)
For the Santa Hats:
Take one of the very large marshmallows and cut with a knife or scissors a small round section. This is the base of the hat. Add your strawberries – green top sliced off and follow up with a bit of whipped cream on top. This one was the easiest and quickest to get done. No fancy piping needed and the kids love it! Strawberries and chocolate for the win!
For the Christmas Trees:
Melt green colored chocolate and place into plastic sandwich bag. Snip off a small section of the corner and drizzle chocloate over graham crackers in the shape of a tree. Add sprinkles and a star. Add whipped cream to Snack Pack Pudding Cups as your field of snow and place your trees in.
The Christmas Trees are really fun and having the melted chocolate holds onto the sprinkles very well.
For the Snowmen:
Using your black piping gel, create eyes and mouth. Add your orange nose. I used the bigger round sprinkle candies. Dip your graham cracker and marshamallows in melted dark colored chocolate. This is the really messy but most fun part. Letting your chocolate drizzle off is key. You’ll place your marshmallow on top of the graham cracker to create the look of a top hat.
If your top hats become too heavy, use a little bit of the melted chocolate on the top of the marshmallow to act as an adhesive and a tooth pick to steady the marshmallow in the cup.
Voila! You now have a fun treat to share with your family and friends. Adults and children alike will love to make these and you can even use this as a dessert bar for a party. Let your imagination take hold and you’ll feel like a kid again! What would you make with your Snack Pack Pudding Cups? Reindeer, Snowmen, Penguins? Tell me below!
